One-Arm Bench Pushups
Bodyweight Strength - This bodyweight exercise is the next step after mastering the One-Arm Bar Pushup as you gain strength and work your way to a full bodyweight One-Arm Pushup. It requires nothing but a sturdy bench that is about knee height. A bench in the gym is the perfect piece of equipment but a stair or anything else that is the correct height and solid will work fine as well.
Simply follow the exact same technique as the One-Arm Pushup and place your hand on the edge of a bench rather than on the floor. As you lower yourself down to the bench to perform the exercise, make sure that your chest touches the bench right along your nipple line. The technique will be the same as for Bench Pushups except that this exercise will be performed with one arm instead of course.
After you master this exercise you are ready to move on to the next step which is the ultimate in bodyweight strength: The One-Arm Pushup aka the Bruce Lee Special.
