Power Chin-ups
Bodyweight Strength - Power Chin-ups are a great bodyweight strength exercise and is simply an explosive version of the chin-up and can be used on any chin-up grip variation. Crossfit has recently made this version of the chin-up very popular because of their frequent use of it in their attainment of very high rep chin-up sets.
However, it is important to clearly differentiate between the standard chin-up with strict form and the power chin-up that utilizes an explosive leg kick, hip thrust, and the carrying of the momentum from these movements through completion of the exercise. Because of this utilization of momentum and leg/hip trust, it is very much like a reverse Clean or Snatch except that your bodyweight is the resistance and your are hanging from a chin-up bar rather than holding a barbell.
