EXTERNAL SHOULDER ROTATION

External Shoulder Rotations are an excellent rotator cuff exercise that can help rehab shoulder injuries or prevent shoulder injuries form ever occurring in the first place. They are performed with fairly light weight, but their value at contributing to true functional bodyweight strength is phenomenal because of the supporting role the rotator cuff plays in stabilizing the shoulder.

To perform an External Shoulder Rotation, simply do the exact opposite of an Internal Shoulder Rotation. If training the right arm, stand with your left side facing the cable machine and the resistance will pull against your arm in the opposite direction. The movement itself i identical. The resistance is simply coming from the other direction in this case.
