Power Clean (hang above knee)
Bodyweight Strength - This version of the Clean will be performed exactly like the standard Olympic Clean except that rather than starting the lift from the floor, the bar will start with you standing and holding it in front of you (as though you just completed a Deadlift) and then leaning and semi-squatting (as though performing a Stiff Leg Deadlift with slightly more bend in the knees) until the bar get just above your knees (the "power position") and then rapidly changing directions of the movement, from down to up, by exploding with all of the force and power that your thighs and hips can generate to perform a Clean. Essentially it is a Clean simply performed from the top of the knee, except that you are allowing yourself to "gear up" muscle tension for the lift by leaning over and rapidly changing directions to generate power (in much the same way that you would quickly dip down into a semi-squat to build rapid tension and force in the legs if you were going to attempt to jump as high as possible).
