Power Clean (from floor)
Bodyweight Strength - The Power Clean is performed exactly like the standard Clean except that you will not drop into the Front Squat position when catching the bar after the initial vertical explosion. Instead of squatting down to catch the bar, you will catch it in the upright position. This means that the bar has to travel farther (higher) from your initial vertical explosion which means 1) the bar will have to move faster and 2) you will not be able to lift as much weight on Power Clean as you can on the Clean. For this reason, many sports that require a high degree of explosiveness utilize the Power Clean as one of their primary lifts in their training program.
