Medicine Ball Slams
REAL Strength - Medicine Ball Slams are a great functional strength, speed ,power, and conditioning exercise that requires nothing but a medicine ball.
Simply hold a medicine ball in both hands in front of your body and then reach your hands high above your head and using all the strength in your whole body) slam the ball down into the ground in front of you as hard as you can. When it bounces off of the ground, catch it with both hands and repeat for the planned number of reps.
When first attempting this, do a few test throws that are not with 100% of your potential force in order to test out the bounciness of the medicine ball. Some medicine balls are too bouncy and may bounce right back up and hit you in the face if you're not careful. Others won't bounce at all and will just thud into the ground. Ideally you want a medicine ball that will bounce back up to waist or belly height so that you can easily catch it and immediately transition right in the next rep.
