Is Bodyweight Strength Useful to Real Life?
Picture yourself:
The list could go on forever. The point is simple:
We all encounter situations every single day that could be alot easier for us to handle if we simply had trained our bodies to have a higher level of functional bodyweight strength.
The lack of (or presence of) bodyweight strength in our lives can cause embarrassment (or enjoyment and pride) in real situations that we face regularly for years and years to come. We don't have to view our bodies as a prison that confines our activities to only the easy and sedentary but can instead view our bodies as our vehicles for enjoyment and unlimited possibilities in which to live our life actively and freely.
- On a rock climbing trip with friends
- Throwing batting practice for your son's little league baseball team
- Going to the park with your kids, watching them hop the fence, and realizing that there is no way you're going to be able to hop it yourself and instead having to walk around to the gate while they giggle at you and call you "old"
- Helping a friend move into a new house and having to say that you can't help with the couch because of your "bad back"
- Having to take the stairs in your office building because the elevator went out (and having to take a rest after every couple flights of stairs because you're so out of breath)
