dOUBLE sCISSORS jUMPS
Bodyweight Strength - The double scissors jump is a bodyweight exercise that requires a very high degree of bodyweight strength, explosiveness, speed, and coordination. It is very difficult to perform and should only be attempted by very capable athletes.
The exercise itself is simple to explain, but performing it is very difficult. It is simply a Lunge Jump performed in such a way that when airborne, you will not only switch your feet once, but you will switch them twice. By switching them twice while midair, you will actually land back on the ground in the exact lunge position that you launched form. This requires a combination of a high jump providing long hang time and very rapid movement of the legs while in the air.
This exercise increases the speed and power of the hips flexors muscles and many of the other muscles that are crucial to sprint speed development as well as jumping and acceleration development for speed and power sports.
