Box Jumps (for height)
Bodyweight Strength - Box Jumps are a phenomenal bodyweight strength and explosiveness exercise and can be performed anywhere with nothing but a sturdy box to jump onto. They are a very functional exercise for real life. Be aware, however, that this exercise can certainly result in falls that could cause injury. All exercise carries the risk of injury with it of course, but because of the nature of jumping on a box, if the box is tripped on, missed altogether, etc it is very easy to hit your shin hard on the box or fall and seriously injure a wrist when trying to catch yourself on the ground.
To perform box jumps (for height) simply stand in front of your chosen box, dip your body into a rapid semi-squat while swinging your arms down hard to build momentum and power; and then when you explode back up throw your arms hard upward and push hard through the floor with your feet to propel yourself upward as high as possible. As soon as you launch off of the ground, tuck your feet up as high as you can to land on the box.
After landing, hop back down and then repeat the process.
