Become a Bodyweight Strength Proponent in Your Local Gym

Most chain gyms are filled with people doing very traditional machine based workouts that are very non-functional and if you waltz in there doing some of the bodyweight strength exercises that we are proponents of then you may get some funny looks from some of the other members.
However, you may find that those funny looks are often followed by curious, interested questions because people are intrigued and impressed. In our view, most people inherently want to possess bodyweight strength even if they are unsure how to define it or achieve it.
When they look over at you and see you performing movements that reflect your attainment of bodyweight strength they will be intrinsically interested and will want to know how they too can acquire these naturally desirable abilities that you possess and that they do not.
When this happens, you should take the opportunity to share the bodyweight strength philosophy with them and encourage them to learn more about bodyweight strength and how they can target their workout routine to more accurately reflect their desired training goals.
Inevitably, you will also get some ugly looks and unfriendly comments from some "know it alls" who are only too eager to inform you that you are doing everything wrong, are likely to injure yourself, and that you desperately need them to "teach" you how to workout properly. Every gym has a few of these people and you'll just have to learn to let their comments roll off your back. It just comes with the territory.
