Barbell Shrugs

Barbell Shrugs are a great trap builder and thus can greatly assist your functional strength on exercises such as the Clean, the Snatch, and the Deadlift.

To perform the Barbell Shrug, simply load a barbell with the desired weight on a squat rack at about waist height, grab the bar with a Clean width grip, and then shrug the shoulders up as high as possible. After shrugging up, lower your shoulders again, shrug again, etc. Repeat for the planned number of repetitions.

Disclaimer - We do not recommend performing any exercise without the supervision of a highly qualified bodyweight strength professional present with you.  This detailed exercise description is for informational purposes only.  Consult your physician before attempting any strength training program or attempting this exercise or any of the other exercises on www.getrealstrength.com
